Nanoengineering of Functional Polymeric Materials

Research at the Nanoengineering of Functional Polymeric Materials (NFPM) group focuses on the development of advanced polymeric and hybrid materials with potential applications in e.g. medicine, nanoelectronics and conversion of solar light.
Precise design of macromolecules implies their structure on a nanoscale and macroscopic polymer properties. Controlled radical polymerization methods are used to synthesize polymers of different architecture both in solution and as grafted from various surfaces. Most of the studies utilize water-soluble polymers: amphiphilic polyelectrolytes, ionic conductive polymers and natural biopolymers.
